GEMS AT COMMUNITY CUP - OTTAWA
June 28th, 2013
Gems of Saint Luica was delighted to participate at the Community Cup - a soccer tournament held in Ottawa. The celebration of the day isn’t just fun and games: it’s fun and games with a purpose. The Community Cup helps newcomers to Canada make connections, and it banishes the isolation that many feel on coming to a new country. The Community Cup is a celebration of multiculturalism: everyone is welcome. We have events for soccer players and non-soccer players alike, for the young and old, for the new and the established alike. Come and Get in the Game for the Community Cup 2015!
Gems had a chat with Ottawa Mayor JIm Watson, who is a dynamic and community oriented leader in Ottawa. Our CEO, Wilson Jn Baptise, joined hte World Skills team to participate in the soccer tournament. Wilson is a past national soccer player for Saint Lucia and was happy to be on the field, playing his favourite sport. The Community Cup is a day which truly brings together the community in a fun-filled way. We even met Saint Lucians there and marketed Gems of Saint Lucia to many new individuals. Here are some photos to enjoy!
