Press Release: Gems of Saint Lucia will be presenting at the 40th Annual World Congress of the Africa Travel Association, November 9th – 14th, 2015.
The Chief Executive Officer for Gems of Saint Lucia, Wilson Jn. Baptiste and the Director of Operations Magdalene Cooman, will be leaving for Nairobi, Kenya, on November 7, 2015, to attend the 40th Annual World Congress of the Africa Travel Association. They will be guests of the Africa Travel Association.
The two Gems executives have been invited to present a paper on: ‘Marketing Cultural Heritage Sites and Authentic Travel Experiences’ at the Marketing Session, on Monday, November 9, 2015, at 02:20 p.m. They will discuss the following during their presentation: (a). an overview of the SWOT analysis to the emergence of cultural and heritage tourism as a fashionable tourism activity (b).the importance of value-based partnerships when selecting /working with stakeholders (c). the value of a different marking perspective to the marketing of cultural and heritage assets (d). the value of formalized marketing plans with clearly stated goals and objectives for cultural and heritage attractions (e). the Gems brand to developing and marketing cultural and heritage sites. This session is expected to be joined by tourism professionals and other invited guests. As a result of this event, Saint Lucia is expected to gain extensive exposure among the hundreds of participants who will be flying in from across the globe to attend the Congress.
The presentation of the paper by the two Gems executives will immediately be followed by a reception to usher in the “Gems of Africa-Kenya.’ This is the latest collaborative initiative between Wilson Jn. Baptiste and Mrs. Jane Adam, Managing Director for Nature Expedition, in Kenya. Mrs. Adam and Mr. Jn. Baptiste have been discussing the formation of this concept for the past few months and decided that this was the opportune time to launch the brand. It is expected that stakeholders from Kenya’s tourism industry will be in attendance.
While in Kenya, the Gems executives will visit a number of cultural and heritage sites and taken on a number of Safari tours. In addition, they will also be attending events organized by the African Travel Association. Mr. Jn. Baptiste will also be in the company of another New York University alum, Ms. Andrea Papitto, Director Trade Relations and Communication at Africa Travel Association, who attended NYU with him and also in the company of Mr. Edward Bergman, Executive Director of Africa travel Association, and also his professor at New York University (NYU). The two are expected to spend ten days in Kenya.
